Leart Rama (b.1997, Kosovo) is a film director and DJ. He discovered his passion for film when he was scouted as a talent at the age of sixteen in Dokufest’’s “Documentary Film School.” He graduated in film directing at the “University of Arts of Tirana” in Albania in 2018. He was also one of the awardees selected to direct a film with Werner Herzog in the Colombian Jungle. He is also the founder of “Katarzë Films,” an alternative film house in Prishtina that digs into taboos and human’s emotions through films. Leart has directed over thirty films, including award winning ones, documentaries and artistic music videos. Some of his films include: “Four Pills at Night,” “The Station,” “Tegel,” and “A Call from Yesterday.” His last film “Four Pills at Night” is currently being developed into a feature film.
As he developed his passion for storytelling, Leart started to dig more into different subgenres of electronic music discovering more about emotions, states of mind and the impact of music on them. In this journey, he found a very intimate link between sounds and the way he presents his films. His DJs sets and films are characterized with a lot of contrast just as our daily life is. Since 2019 Leart has also become a key part of Servis label, determined to give a new touch to the local scene in Kosovo, blending all of this with film, telling stories through the music.
